North Stars Move to League Finals

The North Stars defeated the Sudbury Nickel City Sons this afternoon in Azilda by a score of 6 - 2. With the win the North Stars swept their opponents in the last two series 3 games to none. Jake Patterson was in goal for the win.
The North Stars now meet the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves, who defeated the New Liskeard Cubs this evening in Sudbury by a score of 4 - 1, in a best of five series for the Great North Midget League Playoff Championship. The Championship Series will start in the Sault Thursday March 11 at the John Rhodes Arena with a 6:30pm warm up and a 7:00pm game-time. Game two goes Friday March 12 at the Rankin Arena with a 6:00pm warm up and a 6:30pm game-time. The series then shifts to Sudbury, Saturday March 13 for game three at the Coniston Arena with a 3:00pm warm up and a 3:30pm start. Game four would be Sunday March 14 at the Countryside Arena with an 11:30am warm up and a 12:00 noon start. If a game five is required it will be Monday March 15 in the Sault at the John Rhodes Arena with a 6:30pm warm up and a 7:00pm start. Look forward to a "Hard-core Hockey Weekend" next weekend, it should be a great series.

6. Grant Syrette from Joel McCauley and Jake Wright at 13:04 of the third period.
