North Stars Finish Regular Season With a Win

The North Stars capped off the 2009 - 2010 Great North Midget League Season with a 3 - 0 win over the North Bay Trappers in North Bay. Jake Patterson earned the shut out in goal and also finished as the top goaltender in the Great North Midget League.
The North Stars culminated a fine season finishing in first place with 27 wins, 3 losses, 3 ties and 1 overtime loss good for 58 points. The North Stars also boast having 7 players in the top 25 scoring race with the first ever North Star player to win the Great North Midget League Scoring Title going to captain Brian Nanne. Brandon Warmington finished 3rd, Joel McCauley 7th, Davis Boyer 11th, Jake Wright 12th, Derek Battagin 17th, and Matt Zalewski in 23rd. Goaltender Paul Orlando finished up the regular season in third in the goaltender standings. A great year for both team and individual achievements.
Scoring for the North Stars today were:
1. Aidan Wright from Brandon Warmington at 19:15 of the second period.
2. Aidan Wright from Joel McCauley and Brian Nanne at 18:29 of the third period on the power play.
3. Brandon Warmington unassisted at 15:05 of the third period.
Round one of playoffs begins this weekend in the Sault when the North Stars host the North Bay Trappers for a pair of games. Saturday the game will be held at the RANKIN ARENA, warmups at 5:00pm and gamestart at 5:30. Sunday's matchup will be at the John Rhodes Arena on Pad #1 with the start at 3:30 pm.
